Ashley Goodwyn

Ashley Goodwyn is a St. Petersburg-based installation artist and glass sculptor with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of fine art, material culture, and immersive experience. Growing up in Alabama surrounded by art, she went on to earn a BFA from Alfred University, home to the number two ranked glass program in the nation, and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She spent three years teaching glassblowing and working as a technician at UrbanGlass in Brooklyn, NY, one of the country's premier public glass studios. Now rooted in St. Petersburg, Florida, she maintains an active studio practice centered on large-scale glass installation and sculpture that engages themes of ecology, environment, and the relationship between the viewer and the natural world. Her work invites audiences to step inside the piece rather than stand in front of it, creating environments that are at once intimate and monumental, fragile and enduring.
